Healing With Nature

Oriental Herbology

Ancient Chinese herbal formulas are as effective now as they were when first Picture of herbsintroduced more than 2,000 years ago. Most formulas consist of two to eighteen different types of herbs. Formulas treat a wide variety of symptoms while stimulating the body's natural healing process. Hospital studies prescribing individualized complex herbal formulas have demonstrated excellent results with patients who fail to respond to conventional pharmaceutical treatments.

Chinese herbology often incorporates ingredients from all parts of plants, the leaf, stem, flower, root, and also ingredients from animals and minerals. Herbology is traditionally one of the more important modalities utilized in traditional chinese medicine (TCM). Each herbal medicine prescription is a blend of many herbs tailored to the individual patient. The practitioner usually designs a remedy using one or two main ingredients that target the illness. Then the practitioner adds many other ingredients to adjust the formula to the patient's conditions based on Yin Yang imbalance.

Picture of herbsUnlike western medications, the balance and interaction of all the ingredients are considered more important than the effect of individual ingredients. It is critically important that the patient discuss what medications they may be using in order to avoid drug-herb interactions. We only recommend herbal medicine products made from the highest quality materials and free of impurities.
